Be sure to stop by Corry Jamestown Credit Union April 8-12 as we celebrate Youth* Week. Bring your child in to open an account or make a deposit into their current youth account. Every youth opening an account or making a deposit will receive promotional items reminding them to not let the "Eclipse shade their view of their savings goals". When your child makes a deposit April 8-12, they may enter to win a variety of prizes. Plan to join us in April to encourage youth to establish good financial habits. *Youth 17 and under.

Opening a youth account? What do you need? 2 forms of ID for the child and two forms of current ID for the parent/grandparent/guardian who will be on the account. If opening a youth account during the week of April 8-12, ask for a coupon to redeem for the $5 opening credit*.
*Must request the coupon. Coupon valid week of April 8-12 only. Coupon can only be used once per new member account. IF account is closed within 12 months, the $5 opening credit will be forfeited. Youth 17 and under qualify.

Saving has never been more fun!

Teaching your kids about saving money can have many benefits besides the obvious earned interest. Learning to save up for a large purchase or even using their own funds to buy smaller items like toys or candy, can teach kids to make good financial decisions in the future. Being prepared to wait until they are able to pay for items can help children refrain from getting into debt later in life. Managing their own account is also a great way to experience real-life financial issues like keeping track of balances, using a debit card, and managing income.

Youth Savings Accounts

Teens are able to get a debit card at age 14, and are encouraged to speak with a CJCU staff member about building good credit before they reach 18. We are always available to discuss credit options, such as our Student Loans, Choice Loans and Choice Credit Cards. We want to see our members on the path to success, not debt!

To open a new account, an adult must complete the Membership Application, provide 2 forms of ID for themselves & 2 forms for the child, and deposit at least $5 into the savings account.
